INCLUSIEF
Director: Ellen Vermeulen
Feature Documentary
Production: Inti Films
Status: Premiered at Vooruit Ghent
Gert Verboven: Executive Producer
Inclusive education is like learning children without arms and legs to swim", said a Belgian politician. The general Flemish education system can no longer refuse to accept pupils who have disabilities, conditions, or handicaps and require extra care. The M-Decree obliges schools to adapt to the needs of children. Everybody has an opinion about it, but the missing voices are those of the children and their parents. Inclusive observes in beautiful black and white how four children with different special needs experience going to a normal school. Inclusive is not a rushed TV report or reality series that panders to your emotions, but a carefully made, cinematic film that offers an intimate insight into the lives of four children, Rosie, Sami, Irakli and Nathan.

There's a treasure trove of information to be found in the poisonous e-waste in Ghana. The film follows young mother Ama who tries to become an internet con artist but she doesn't appear to have much of a knack for it. She looks in astonishment at an American street that she has conjured up on Google and wonders if she will able to scam a man. One Dollar, on the other hand, knows how to use his fake account to drive men crazy: they fall for the photo of a buxom woman - and his high-pitched voice.

ANORANZA
Director: Flo Flamme
Feature Documentary
Production: Minds Meet
Status: Premiered at BOZAR Brussels
Gert Verboven: Sound Operator
Half a century ago, an island in the Carribean got disconnected and missed out on globalization. What supposed to be a revolution of change and progression resulted in drastic boundary. An outside world, dissonant to revolutionary prospects became vaporous, banned from the stage and invisible. An innocent way of self-deception patterned an entire generation. Trapped between the walls of the ocean, the older Cubans’ worldview and ideals mutated inch by inch. Recently a pragmatic gamble of using capitalism to save socialism paid off, but it nevertheless produced a disorientated generation.
In their autumn days the international travel agents send buses full of ambassadors of a never-never land. It triggers their longing for a vanished time and places they have never seen. In Añoranza their dreams take off one last time, unhindered by delays, available seats or traffic jams.
